Welcome Back Sunday - 100th Anniversary Tree Planting/Burying Time Capsule
Dear Friends In Christ:
On Sunday September 7th, our congregation is hosting a welcome back Sunday, in honour of the United Church of Canada’s 100th Anniversary of its birth.
In the Spirit of inclusivity and hospitality, we wish to welcome you back to celebrate with us 100 years of United Church ministry. In the worship service we will mark the profound moments of our denomination’s life and ministry, those times when we lived as God’s people with bold discipleship, daring justice, and deep spirituality, while also looking at how we will continue to be the people of God well into tomorrow.
Furthermore, we are preparing a time capsule that we will bury on our property after the service. Perhaps you can bring along a tiny piece of who we are as a congregation to add to the time capsule. That would be greatly welcomed.
Also, in honour of the 100th Anniversary of the denomination’s birth, we will be planting a tree, a symbolic act to show our support for the denomination’s actions to combat climate change, locally, nationally and globally.
We are personally inviting you to come to our welcome back service. It would be a privilege if we had the joy of greeting you on this Sunday.
Take care and God bless.
